Subject: A Telephone Call With Ted Mead
Earlier this evening, I spent 45 minutes on the phone taking to a 71 year old alumnus living
for most of his life in Toronto Canada. His name is Theodore (Ted) Mead and he was at the house
from 1943 thru 1949. He told me his nickname at the house was "puddles". If you knew him way
back then, you'll remember why.
His was a very interesting time at the house. I remembered many of the names of the guys he knew
and also some of the exploits they did. He was a veteran of the Korean war and again knew quite
a few of the guys that are named on that veterans plaque at the website.
Many years ago, his story was printed in the local Toronto paper. He is going to try to have
his son get a copy and mail it to us for insertion into the website. He doesn't have a PC but
his son does. He is going to try to learn enough to be able to go to the site and check it out.
I will be making copies of most of the material at the website to mail him a package. If anyone
of you remember him and want me to pass along a message, you know my E-mail address.

Thank you.
I am familiar with the Sparkill congregation and their work; my father's first cousin,
Sister Margaret Catherine (Mary O'Connor) (now deceased) was a member and was one of their
pioneer group of missionaries to Pakistan.
Thanks for the interesting addition to my store of information on the community.
