Greetings,

My father, George Fox and his brother, Arthur ("Junior" or "Knobby") Fox lived at St. Agnes from 1935 until 1944. My father joined the Navy at 16 and his brother graduated at 18.

My grandmother's best friend was a nun at St. Agnes, Sr. Bernadine. When my grandmother died in 1935, my grandfather was unable to care for the boys and placed them at St. Agnes in her care.

I remember going to the reunions with my parents when I was little and my father lovingly referring to St. Agnes as "the dive". I am sure that my parents went to the 50th anniversary reunion because I have the picture of the convent that is on the website.

My father is quite ill now. His brother is deceased, as is my mother. The next time I see my father, I will show him the pictures from the website. It might make him smile as he remembers how many times he ran away from the home, back to NYC to be with his aunt and cousins, even at a very young age.

I am not sure if you or anyone else remembers my father or his brother. My father played football for St. Agnes and was in the school band (tuba player). It would be nice to hear from you or anyone else who remembers my dad, so that I can pass this information on to him.

When you mentioned your Dad may have been at our 50th Reunion a bell went off in my head that perhaps you could print out a copy of our story with pictures about that from the web site.
