Subject: House Kid has died

FYI, I thought you might like to post this information on your web site http://www.stagnesalumni.org/

Bob and I lived in the same co-op here in Yonkers and we were both on the co-op’s board of directors. He had been in ill health for a while, but I am sorry to learn of his passing.

I have notified my counterpart at the Dominican Sparkill communications office.

KEANE, ROBERT RICHARD

 July 07, 2009

Robert Richard Keane, 82, died peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospital Yonkers, NY on Saturday July 4, 2009. Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 18, 1927 to the late William and Maude (Brown) Keane. One of 11 children and the last surviving child. He grew up in St. Agnes Home for boys in Sparkill, NY and attended Tappan Zee High School. He is a "House Kid".

He was married to the late Elizabeth Vanson Keane, and had four children Robert, William, Loretta and Thomas. He is survived by his spouse Margaret (Gallagher) Keane, son Thomas, daughter Loretta,  grandchildren William, Courtney, Carly, sistersin-law Catherine Keane and Patricia Forcelli.

Robert served in the US Army and was a 50 year resident of Yonkers. He had a 41 year career with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and was a life long Yankee Fan. His love for his country and all things American only make it fitting that he should leave us on July 4, Independence Day, so we will never forget him and what this nation stands for.

Bob, you leave a family grateful for your love and support and many true friends. You will be deeply missed and it has been our good fortune to have you in our lives. Rest Peacefully. Breathe Easy.

Funeral Service at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home 6110 Riverdale Ave Bronx Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral Mass 10AM Wednesday St. Denis Church Yonkers. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to St. Joseph's Hospital Yonkers, NY and the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, Sparkill, NY.
