Coach Charles Faulk
CHARLES FAULK Pawleys Island, S.C. Charles Faulk of Pawleys Island, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2000, after a short illness. He was 88. The fourth son of the late Richard Warren and Nora Faulk, he was born July 21, 1911, in Villanova, Pa. He was the widower of Mary Stapelton Faulk.
Mr. Faulk graduated from Lower Marion High School and Villanova University. Prior to WWII, he was employed as a teacher and coach at St. Agnes School in Sparkill. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He retired from the federal government as a Civilian Personnel Officer for Eastern Air Defense Command. After retirement, he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Personnel for Orange County. He was active in civic affairs and was elected to the Town of Highlands School Board and was later elected Town Clerk.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include one son, Richard Faulk and his wife, Carole of Pawleys Island, S.C.; one daughter, Diane Fout and her husband, Robert of Annandale, Va.; three granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, Friday, May 5, in Precious Blood Catholic Church, Pawleys Island. Father Patrick Stenson will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
